The University Library Zurich has concluded Open Access agreements with the academic publishers listed below, which offer a full or partial discount on the Open Access publication fees to the authors affiliated with the University of Zurich. Based on theOpen Access strategy for Switzerland, the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries is negotiating national Read&Publish (R&P) agreements. Some further agreements are negotiated into institutional licenses and Open Access memberships or the publishers offer an alternative approach towards transitioning subscription-based journals into Open Access.
Authors who wish to publish their articles Open Access under the agreements must consider the criteria listed below.
The University Library recommends that funded publications are generally published under a Creative Commons (CC) license (or equivalent) that is as free as possible, e.g. CC BY. The choice of license is up to the authors and also depends on the offer of the respective publishing house.
There are no costs for UZH researchers for Open Access articles in journals of the following publishers. Article processing charges (APCs) are covered by UB Zurich. The specific conditions of the individual agreements can be found under the respective publisher:

SCOAP3 is an international consortium of libraries and funders. Its goal is to continuously transform central journals in high energy physics to Open Access. We finance an annual contribution based on the researchers' publication output.
