Cai Yuanpei (1868-1940) was a Chinese anthropologist. He founded social and cultural anthropology as a modern discipline in China. The collection named after him at UZH contains mainly ethnographic studies on ethnic groups in today's People's Republic of China. The studies are predominantly written in Chinese.
