URPP Asia and Europe
The workshop explores the translocal circulation of norms and ideas that connect spaces, practices, and forms of political protest in different parts of the world. In particular, questions to be addressed include the normative ideas which fuel such protests, where they come from and how they globalize, their appropriation through local political practices and mediated discourses, and how these re-configured ideas might travel back to their places of origin.
