Usage Restrictions E-Books

E-books can be saved as PDFs and in some cases also as ePubs and thus can be accessed offline.

Scientific e-books are primarily suitable for use on PCs or tablets; use on e-readers is only possible to a limited extent.

Specific usage restrictions apply to certain e-book platforms:

eBook Central

Print	max. 40% des Titels per Nutzer/Session/24 Std. (Print to PDF)
Copy	20% des Titels per Nutzer/Session/24 Std.
Offline availability	Chapter download (max. 40% of the title per user/session/24 hrs.) or full download in Adobe Digital Editions (desktop/laptop) or ADE-compatible apps (BlueFireReader, etc.). This requires the provision of a personal AdobeID. Depending on the license type, the download ("Loan") of a title is available for 1 to 28 days. If a title is neither available for reading Online nor full Download, this means that all simultaneous downloads have been exhausted (e.g., for 1-user or 3-user licenses). After the download period has expired, the title becomes available again.

Annotating	Possible online and offline (Adobe Digital Editions) (anhand Adobe Digital Editions)

Print	60 pages in one session per hour (Save to PDF or send as E-Mail)
Offline availability	Partial download: individual pages via email as PDF or txt file. Complete download: in Adobe Digital Editions or Adobe Digital Editions compatible apps for 7-15 days (complete download not possible for some publishers).

Annotating	online with a personal account
