Members of the Lei architectural dynasty took charge of most of the Qing (1644–1911) imperial construction projects during the last empire of China. The Lei dynasty designed the Qing-period buildings in the Forbidden City, the Yuanming Yuan and many architectural projects now renowned as global heritage sites. The exhibition reveals selected highlights from the Yangshi Lei Architectural Archives. It provides visual and technical insights into the complexity of Chinese landscapes in the context of the formation of Qing cultural identity.
